Call for Papers: The 30th Annual Conference of the Chinese Association for the History of Foreign Economic Theories

To persist in and develop Chinese and foreign Marxist economics, to conduct in-depth research on foreign economic theories by maintaining close ties to the economic development of China and the world, to promote the study, dissemination, and research of the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee [1], and to welcome the victorious convening of the 20th National Congress of the Party, the Chinese Society for the History of Foreign Economic Theories and Sichuan University will jointly host the 30th Annual Academic Conference of the Chinese Society for the History of Foreign Economic Theories. The conference is organized by the Center for Economic and Social Development Research of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the School of Economics at Sichuan University. It is scheduled to be held in Chengdu in early September 2022.

This conference will focus on, but is not limited to, the following topics:

  1. Research on the development and evolution of foreign economic thought.
  2. Research on the major schools and frontier theories of contemporary Western economics.
  3. Comparative research between Marxist economics and Western economics.
  4. Research on the contemporary history of foreign Marxist economic thought.
  5. Research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialist Economy with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and its overseas dissemination.
  6. Theoretical and empirical research on the current world economy and international economy.
  7. Research on the theories and policies for accelerating the construction of China's unified national large market [2], using the global situation [3] as a reference.
  8. Research on accelerating the construction of a new development pattern [4] to respond to the challenges of the US and the West.

We now call for papers on the above topics from colleagues nationwide. Papers are required to take Marxist economics as their guide, focus on the study of foreign economic theories, adhere to scholarly writing standards, and demonstrate academic innovation. Following a peer-review process, invitation letters will be sent to the authors of selected papers. Selected papers will be compiled into a conference volume and published by China Economic Publishing House. The conference will review and select outstanding achievements for recommendation to journals such as Marxist Studies, Economic Perspectives, Studies on Political Economy, Contemporary Economic Research, and Heiping Economics (Quarterly).

Submissions must include an abstract of approximately 500–800 words.
