Call for Papers: 2016 Annual Meeting of the Chinese Society of Historical Materialism and the 4th Marxist Philosophy Forum of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

In order to further the in-depth study, research, and implementation of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches, the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Chinese Society of Historical Materialism and the 4th Marxist Philosophy Forum of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) is scheduled to be held from August 5 to August 7, 2016 (a two-day session, with registration throughout the day on August 5), at Henan University of Science and Technology (Luoyang City, Henan Province). The conference is jointly hosted by the Chinese Society of Historical Materialism, Henan University of Science and Technology, the CASS Leadership Group for Marxist Theory Discipline Construction and Theoretical Research Project, and the CASS Center for National Cultural Security and Ideology Construction; it is organized by the School of Marxism at Henan University of Science and Technology. The theme of the conference is "The New Historical Starting Point and New Developments in Historical Materialism." We welcome everyone to actively draft papers for submission based on this theme and the following topics:

1. Xi Jinping on Historical Materialism
2. Xi Jinping on Dialectical Materialism
3. Research on Socialist Political Economy with Chinese Characteristics
4. Research on the Scientific Methodology of Xi Jinping’s Governance Philosophy
5. Research on Constructing Philosophy and Social Sciences with Chinese Characteristics
6. Research on Leadership, Management, and the Power of Discourse ^[1] in Ideology
7. Xi Jinping’s Party-Building Thought through the Lens of His Important Speech on the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Party
8. Research on the Concept of Innovative Development and the Contemporary Development of Productive Forces
9. Research on the Concept of Shared Development and the Thought of Common Prosperity
10. Research on the Concept of Green Development and the Harmonious Development of Humanity and Nature
11. Research on the Concept of Coordinated Development and Major Relationships in Modernization Construction
12. Research on the Concept of Open Development and the Chinese Dream and World Dream

Submitted papers should select a specific title based on the theme and the contents mentioned above, while noting the following four points: papers must closely adhere to the theme, maintain correct perspectives, and emphasize ideological, academic, and practical qualities (non-academic works such as essays or poetry will not be accepted); papers should be independent research results that have not been previously published; the length should be controlled within 8,000 characters, including an abstract of no more than 500 characters; for citation and footnote formatting, please refer to the journal Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu) and carefully verify all quotations.

This conference adheres to the principle of "attendance based on paper acceptance." Please send the electronic version of your submission to lwxh2010@163.com before July 22, 2016. We will conduct a selection process, promptly notify the authors of accepted papers to attend, recommend excellent works for publication, and compile them into a collection at an appropriate time.
