Research Center for National Cultural Security and Ideological Construction

The National Center for Cultural Security and Ideological Construction (国家文化安全与意识形态建设研究中心) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) is a non-entity research institution affiliated with CASS. Drawing on the resources of the Institute of Marxism Studies and other units, the Center conducts research on basic theory and applied policy, carries out the dissemination of fundamental theories, and undertakes the cultivation of specialized talent. The Center bases its work on the overarching context of the world undergoing changes unseen in a century ^[1] and the strategic global perspective of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. It adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and implements Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and the Holistic Approach to National Security ^[2]. The Center is dedicated to consolidating the guiding position of Marxism in the ideological field and strengthening the common ideological foundation upon which the entire Party and the people of the whole country strive in unity. It provides strategic judgment and scientific assessment of the status of national cultural security and ideological construction, offering intellectual support and high-level outputs to comprehensively advance the great cause of building a strong country and achieving national rejuvenation.

The Center is composed of a Director, an Executive Director, Deputy Directors, a Secretary-General, and Deputy Secretaries-General. Director: Xin Xiangyang, Deputy to the National People's Congress and former Director of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies; Deputy Director: Chen Zhigang, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee and Deputy Director of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies; Deputy Director: Liu Xukuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies; Secretary-General: Yang Binbin, Associate Research Fellow in the Research Office for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics at the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies; Deputy Secretary-General: Xu Muxi, Associate Research Fellow in the Research Office for Ideology and Social Trends of the Department of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies.
