Brief Introduction to the Annual Academic Conference of the Chinese Atheism Society

The Annual Academic Conference of the Chinese Atheism Society is an academic gathering co-sponsored by the Chinese Atheism Society, the Institute of Marxism Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and the Venture Center for Science and Atheism at CASS. It serves as the authoritative forum in the field of Marxist atheism research. The Society’s mandate is to unite all members in upholding Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, the Theory of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as their guide. Its objectives are to "disseminate the scientific spirit, conduct education in atheism, safeguard citizens' freedom of religious belief, and promote the implementation of the strategy of invigorating the country through science and education" ^[1]. The conference aims to further advance research into Marxist religious studies and Chinese and foreign atheistic thought; strengthen social investigative research; research, interpret, and disseminate the Party's theories, principles, and policies on religious work in the New Era; propagate Marxist atheism; and facilitate domestic and international academic exchange. Held annually, the conference has become a nationally influential meeting in the fields of Marxist atheistic research and Marxist religious studies.
