Theory and Policy of High-Quality Economic Development: Call for Papers for the 34th Annual Conference of the Chinese Association for Political Economy

To strengthen the research and interpretation of Xi Jinping deeply-held Economic Thought, facilitate our country's high-quality development, and continuously promote theoretical innovation and practical application in political economy, the China Association of Political Economy (CAPE) plans to hold its 34th Annual Academic Conference on April 20–21, 2024, in Wuhan, Hubei. The conference is co-hosted by the China Association of Political Economy and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and organized by the School of Economics at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, the Center for Marxist Economic and Social Development Research at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and the Academy of Haipai [1] Economics at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. It is co-organized by the editorial boards of journals including Research on Political Economy, World Review of Political Economy, Contemporary Economic Research, and Haipai Economics.

We hereby cordially invite faculty and researchers from colleges, universities, and scientific research institutions nationwide to submit papers.

I. Conference Theme The theme of this conference is: "Theory and Policy of High-Quality Development."

II. Primary Discussion Topics Centering on the theoretical and practical issues of high-quality development, this conference will focus on discussing the following aspects: (1) Research on and interpretation of Xi Jinping’s important expositions on high-quality development. (2) Marxist theories of economic growth and high-quality development. (3) Research on the theoretical connotations of high-quality development. (4) Research on the relationship between new quality productive forces and high-quality development. (5) Research on the important role of the state-owned economy in high-quality development. (6) Research on the relationship between high-quality development, high-level opening up, and national economic security. (7) Policy choices for China's high-quality development. (8) Mathematical economic analysis of high-quality development.

III. Submission Requirements (1) Adhere to the correct political orientation and academic guidance. Themes should be prominent and arguments rigorous, reflecting academic depth and innovation. (2) Citations must be standardized and quotations accurate. Use footnotes for annotations, restarting numbering on each page. (3) Papers should use MS Word format. The main text should be in 10.5pt Songti font, with subheadings in 12pt bold Heiti font, and 1.5 line spacing. Papers are preferably between 8,000 and 12,000 characters [2]. A title page must be attached before the main text, including the paper title, abstract (approx. 350 characters), keywords (3–5), author biography, and detailed contact information (mailing address, mobile phone number, and email). For specific formatting, please refer to academic papers published in Research on Political Economy. (4) The submission deadline is March 30, 2024. IV. Other Information (1) This conference will establish sub-forums for postdoctoral researchers and graduate students. Postdoctoral researchers and currently enrolled Master’s and PhD students who are committed to the study of Marxist political economy are actively encouraged to submit papers. (2) The organizing committee will issue formal invitation letters to the authors of selected papers by April 10, 2024. (3) Selected papers will be included in the conference proceedings published by Economic Science Press. Outstanding papers will be recommended for publication in journals such as Research on Political Economy, Contemporary Economic Research, Haipai Economics, and World Review of Political Economy.
