Call for Papers: The 31st Annual Meeting of the Chinese Society of Political Economy and the 24th Seminar of the China School of Economics Forum
The Centennial Development of the Chinese Communist Party’s Economic Theory and Socialist Modernization Construction
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), to further advance the study and interpretation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialist Economy with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, to uphold the fundamentals and break new ground in Marxist political economy, and to strengthen theoretical research into the inherent laws Governing the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country, the 31st Annual Meeting of the Chinese Association of Political Economy (CAPE) and the 24th Seminar of the Chinese School of Economics (Haipai Economics) forum are scheduled to be held from September 11–12, 2021 (weekend) in Changchun, Jilin Province. The conference is hosted by the Chinese Association of Political Economy, the Center for China's State-owned Economy (CCSE) at Jilin University, and the Academy of Haipai Economics at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. It is organized by the CCSE at Jilin University, the Research Center for Political Economy of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics at Jilin University, and the Research Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics at Jilin University. It is co-sponsored by the Center for Economic and Social Development at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the Department of Principles at the Institute of Marxism Studies (CASS), the School of Economics at Jilin University, and the School of Marxism at Jilin University.
With the theme “The CPC’s Centennial Innovation in Economic Theory and the Historical Journey of Socialist Modernization,” this conference will focus on the following topics:
- Research on the CPC’s centennial exploration of China's path to economic modernization and a summary of its historical experience.
- Research on the CPC's adherence to and development of Marxist economic theory over the past century.
- Research on Xi Jinping's important discourses on the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country.
- Research on the connotations, characteristics, and significance of the Chinese path to economic modernization.
- Comparative research on Chinese and foreign models and paths of modernization.
- Research on strengthening, optimizing, and expanding state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and state-owned capital.
- Research on New Imperialism, US containment of the Chinese economy, and China’s countermeasures.
- Research on Chinese and foreign Marxist political economy and current domestic and international economic trends.
- Research on the continuous advancement of the academic development of the New Marxian Economics General School [1].
We sincerely invite teaching and research personnel from national research institutions, institutions of higher education, and members of this Association to actively submit manuscripts. Manuscript requirements:
(1) The theme should be distinct and the argumentation clear, reflecting continuity, scholarship, and innovation. (2) Annotations must be standardized and citations accurate, with sources indicated in footnotes. (3) The main text should be preceded by an abstract (approximately 800 characters), a brief biography of the author, and multiple contact methods. (4) The deadline for submission is July 20, 2021. Official invitations will be sent to selected authors before July 25. Selected papers will be considered for the Association’s Outstanding Paper Award of the year, and the best will be compiled into a collection published by Economic Science Press. Outstanding papers may be recommended to journals such as Marxist Studies, Political Economy Quarterly, Contemporary Economic Research, Journal of Shandong University (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition), Journal of Management, and Haipai Economics.
