The Inauguration Ceremony of the CASS Academy of Marxism–Guang’an, Sichuan Joint Research Base and the Theoretical Seminar on “Summarizing the Party’s Centenary History and Opening a New Future” Held at Xiaoping Executive College
To deeply study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s "July 1st" Important Speech [1], to profoundly understand the great achievements and historical experience of the Party's centenary, to deeply cherish the memory of Comrade Deng Xiaoping's historical contributions, and to engage in in-depth exchanges regarding the use of Red Culture [2] for Party spirit education [3] and the functional role of various research bases, a ceremony was held on September 26 at the Xiaoping Executive Development Academy. The event marked the official designation of the Sichuan Guangan Collaborative Research Base of the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), alongside a theoretical seminar titled "Summarizing the Centenary of Party History, Opening a Brand New Future." Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Marxism Studies at CASS, and Hong Li, Member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Guangan Municipal Committee, attended the meeting.
On behalf of the Guangan Municipal Party Committee, Hong Li expressed warm congratulations on the holding of the designation ceremony, extended a sincere welcome to the leaders and guests attending the theoretical seminar, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Institute of Marxism Studies of CASS for its long-term care and support for Guangan. Hong Li also accepted the plaque for the Sichuan Guangan Collaborative Research Base from Secretary Xin Xiangyang on behalf of the Academy. The meeting then proceeded to the award ceremony for the "Xiaoping Executive Development Academy Cup" essay competition.
Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Marxism Studies at CASS, delivered a specialized report integrated with the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s "July 1st" Important Speech. Starting from the distinct characteristics of the speech, Xin provided a profound interpretation of the "Four Great Achievements" [4] attained by the Party in uniting and leading the people throughout China's developmental journey. He touched upon the boundless self-confidence and the spirit of Great Struggle [5] demonstrated by Chinese Communists in seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation, highlighting the critical importance of the General Secretary's speech. Building upon this, he utilized his solid theoretical foundation to provide an in-depth explanation of the major theoretical innovations within the "July 1st" Important Speech. The report maintained a high political standing while possessing historical thickness and theoretical depth, allowing the participants to partake in a "spiritual feast" that satisfied all the senses—color, aroma, taste, form, meaning, and nourishment.
On the afternoon of the same day, the Institute of Marxism Studies at CASS also held the 2021 Joint Meeting of National Conditions Research Bases. Representatives from various bases conducted exchange speeches focused on their study of the spirit of the "July 1st" Important Speech, their practical implementation of Party history study and education activities, and the performance of their respective bases' roles. Five representatives of the award-winning authors from the "Xiaoping Executive Development Academy Cup" competition shared insights regarding the content of their papers.
More than 80 people participated in the event, including relevant experts and scholars from the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies, leaders and representatives from its National Conditions Research Bases, authors of selected papers for the theoretical seminar, representatives from relevant municipal departments, representatives from various County (City/District) Party Schools, members of the leadership team of the Xiaoping Executive Development Academy, heads of departments (centers), and faculty members.
