Academy of Marxism Holds Mobilization and Deployment Meeting for Studying, Publicizing, and Implementing the Spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee
On the morning of November 25, 2021, the Institute of Marxism Studies (Academy of Marxism) [1] convened a mobilization and deployment meeting for the study, promotion, and implementation of the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC [2]. Comrade Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Institute, presided over the meeting. Vice Presidents Comrade Gong Yun, Comrade Lin Jianhua, and Comrade Yu Junxiao attended the meeting, along with all cadres and scholars of the Institute.
Comrade Xin Xiangyang emphasized that the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee was a milestone meeting convened at an important historical moment—the centenary of the Party's founding—and at a major historical juncture when the Party and the people, having victoriously realized the First Centenary Goal [3] of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, are now advancing toward the Second Centenary Goal [4] of building a great modern socialist country in all respects. He stated that the study, promotion, and implementation of the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee is a major political task for the current and future period. It is necessary to attach great importance to the study, promotion, and implementation of the Session's guiding principles, studying General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the Session and the Resolution of the CPC Central Committee on the Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party over the Past Century [5] in their original form and through a comprehensive and systematic approach. This is essential to grasp the core tenets and achieve a thorough understanding through integration. Furthermore, the study, promotion, and implementation of the Session's guiding principles must be combined with the promotion of the high-quality development of scientific research, further advancing the construction of the "Three Great Systems" [6] of Marxist theory.
Comrade Xin Xiangyang put forward five requirements for the Institute's work in studying, promoting, and implementing the guiding principles of the Plenary Session: First, the study of the Resolution adopted at the Session must be integrated with the study of the previous two historical resolutions [7], with General Secretary Xi Jinping’s "July 1" [8] important speech, with his series of important discourses on Party history, and with the study of the "Four Histories" [9]. Taking a profound grasp of the decisive significance of the "Two Establishments" as the fundamental requirement for deepening the study and education of Party history, we must encourage Party members and cadres to deepen their cognition and understanding and grasp the essence. Second, the Theoretical Learning Center Group of the Party Committee [10] should take the lead in conducting study and discussion, while each branch and Youth Theoretical Study Group organizes multi-level and various forms of study and exchange activities to ensure practical results are achieved. Third, we must actively participate in the propagation and explanation of the Session’s guiding principles, combining this with respective research fields to guide cadres and the masses in deepening their understanding and grasp of the principles. Fourth, we must deepen theoretical research and interpretation, writing and publishing theoretical articles to accurately interpret the important historical conclusions reached and the major ideological viewpoints proposed in the Resolution, and to timely clarify erroneous cognitions and one-sided understandings. Fifth, journals and media such as Marxist Studies (Makesizhuyi Yanjiu), World Socialism Studies (Shijie Shehuizhuyi Yanjiu), and the Marxist Studies Website must carry out comprehensive, multi-angle, and multi-dimensional theoretical interpretations and in-depth reports centered closely on the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session to create a strong atmosphere for study and implementation.
Comrade Xin Xiangyang emphasized that each branch must formulate a sound study plan and coordinate the advancement of various tasks to ensure that the study, promotion, and implementation of the Plenary Session’s guiding principles achieve solid results, further promoting the high-quality development of the Institute’s scientific research work.
After mobilizing and deploying the work for the study, promotion, and implementation of the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session, Comrade Xin Xiangyang also delivered a specialized Party lecture to all Party members and cadres of the Institute, focusing on the in-depth study of the historical experience of the Party’s century of struggle.
