Chinese Social Sciences Net report (Reporter: Gao Ying). On August 18, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) held a specialized press conference in Beijing themed "Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War," during which 11 major research achievements were released. Zhao Rui, Vice President and Member of the Party Leadership Group of CASS, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Zhao Rui stated that eighty years ago, after 14 years of indomitable and bloody struggle, the Chinese people achieved a great victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was the historical turning point for the Chinese nation, moving from the profound crisis it had fallen into since modern times toward great rejuvenation [1]. It was an important component of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War, and a great victory of justice over evil, light over darkness, and progress over reaction. This magnificent and arduous war initiated a new journey for ancient China—a "phoenix nirvana" and rebirth through fire [2]. Its important historical status, far-reaching global significance, and eternal spiritual value are matters we must profoundly remember and continue to research in depth.

Zhao Rui pointed out that as the highest academic institution for research in the philosophy and social sciences in China, CASS always keeps the "greatest interests of the nation" [3] in mind, treating the history of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the history of the Second World War as an extremely important political task and academic project. Under the planning and deployment of the Academy's Party Leadership Group, our institution’s research mechanisms in this field have become increasingly mature. We have formed a synergy across materials organization, database construction, the publication of comprehensive and specialized research results, the building of conference platforms and academic journals, disciplinary development, the establishment of research offices, and the cultivation of young talent. This provides a comprehensive guarantee for the continued development of research into the history of the War of Resistance and the Second World War. Zhao expressed hope that relevant personnel would continue to deepen their research, provide pulse-taking consultations for governance and education [4], work in unity and cooperation, and continuously produce high-quality academic results. This will effectively serve the overall work of the Party and the state, promote the formation of a structural pattern for "organized transformation of scientific research," transform the Great Anti-Japanese War Spirit into a powerful driving force for overcoming difficulties and forging ahead, and cast deep historical wisdom into the great practice of building a strong country and national rejuvenation.

According to reports, the 11 major achievements released on this occasion include seven monographs, three theoretical articles and papers, and one data platform project. During the meeting, several representatives of the authors introduced the basic details of their respective achievements, including: Wang Jianlang, Researcher at the Institute of Modern History; Liu Zuokui, Director of the Institute of World History; Jin Yilin, Deputy Director of the Institute of Modern History; Du Jidong, Researcher at the Academy of Chinese-path Modernization; Wang Shihua, Researcher at the Institute of Modern History; Zhou Bin, Associate Researcher at the Institute of Modern History; and Xu Chi, Associate Researcher at the Institute of Law.

Hu Bin, Director of the Research Management Bureau of CASS, presided over the press conference. Responsible comrades from relevant departments of CASS, representative scholars, and media representatives attended the meeting.
