Abstract
The 21st century is a period in which world socialism seeks revitalization amidst development and transformation. Socialism with Chinese characteristics has become a new highlight in the development of world socialism, serving as its landmark reference frame and mainstay. This collection gathers papers on the study of socialism with Chinese characteristics published by the author over the past 20 years. The volume is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, primarily discussing the essence, connotation, and theoretical and practical significance of the theoretical results of the Sinicization of Marxism, such as Deng Xiaoping Theory, the Important Thought of Three Represents [1], and the Scientific Outlook on Development [2]. The second part focuses on the theory and practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the New Era, discussing the contributions of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to scientific socialism and Marxism, as well as thoughts on Party building and ideology.
About the Author
Jiang Hui is a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Director of the Institute of Contemporary China, Director of the Institute of Marxism Studies, Researcher, and Doctoral Supervisor. He concurrently serves as the Executive Director of the CASS Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Director of the Research Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, and Deputy Director of the World Socialism Research Center. He is a National Expert with Outstanding Contributions, a recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance, and has been selected for the National Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Project [3]. He is a Cultural Master and "Four Batches" Talent [4], a leading talent in philosophy and social sciences under the national "Ten Thousand Talents Program," a member of the Advisory Committee of the Central Marxism Theoretical Research and Construction Project, and a member of the Subject Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. He serves as Vice President of the Chinese Association for Scientific Socialism and Vice President of the specialized Society of History of the Communist Party of China. He has long been engaged in research on Marxist theory, scientific socialism and the international communist movement, socialism with Chinese characteristics, and contemporary world socialism. He has published numerous monographs, translations, and edited volumes, as well as over 200 professional papers.
