2025 Publication of the "Collected Academic Papers of the Academy of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences"

The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Institute of Marxism Studies (hereafter referred to as the "Institute") will celebrate its 20th anniversary on December 26, 2025. To mark the occasion, the Institute decided to organize the editing and publication of The Academic Collected Works of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies (2005–2025). This collection includes the most representative academic articles published by comrades working at the Institute since its founding on December 26, 2005 (including those who later transferred to other units and those who retired during this period). Except for a few comrades who were unable to provide work for specific reasons, virtually every individual contributed one representative article. It should be noted that while the time span indicated in the title is 2005–2025, the collection of articles was completed by the end of August 2025 to ensure publication within the year; thus, the latest publication date for any inclusive article is August 2025.

The collection is divided into five volumes, named after various disciplines and research fields of Marxist theory, including: Basic Theory of Marxism; Sinicization of Marxism; Studies on Party History and Party Building; Studies on Scientific Socialism and the International Communist Movement; and Studies on Overseas Marxism. Naturally, the actual scope of the articles is broader and not limited to the aforementioned disciplines. This collection is both a reflection of the continuous expansion and deepening of disciplinary construction and academic accumulation over the 20 years since the Institute's founding, and a microcosm of the leapfrog development achieved in the Sinicization and modernization [1] of Marxism over these two decades. This collection both continues and carries forward fine academic traditions and provides theoretical exploration of the major issues of our time. It embodies the distinct characteristics of Marxist theory—remaining both consistent in its lineage and advancing with the times—and reflects the research, interpretation, and defense of the theoretical frontiers of Marxism by the scholars of our Institute regarding the Party's innovative theories.
