Plaque Award Ceremony of CASS Academy of Marxism Sichuan Guangan Collaborative Research Base and the "Summarizing the Party's Centennial History, Opening a New Future" Theoretical Seminar Held at Xiaoping Executive Development Academy
In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s "July 1" Keynote Address [1], profoundly recognize the great achievements and historical experience of the Party’s centenary, deeply cherish the memory of Comrade Deng小平’s historical merits, and engage in in-depth exchanges regarding the use of Red Culture [2] for Party spirit education and the functional role of various research bases, the Plaque-Awarding Ceremony for the Sichuan Guang'an Cooperative Research Base of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Institute of Marxism Studies and the "Summarizing the Party’s Centenary History, Opening a Brand New Future" Theoretical Symposium was held at the Xiaoping Executive Development Academy on September 26. Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies, and Hong Li, Member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Guang’an Municipal Committee, attended the meeting.
On behalf of the Guang’an Municipal Party Committee, Hong Li expressed warm congratulations on the holding of the ceremony, extended a sincere welcome to the leaders and guests attending the symposium, and offered heartfelt thanks to the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies for its long-term care and support for Guang’an. Hong Li also accepted the plaque for the Sichuan Guang’an Cooperative Research Base from Secretary Xin Xiangyang on behalf of the Academy. Subsequently, the meeting held an award ceremony for the "Xiaoping Executive Development Academy Cup" essay competition titled "Summarizing the Party’s Centenary History, Opening a Brand New Future."
Xin Xiangyang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies, delivered a specialized report integrating the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s "July 1" Keynote Address. Starting from the distinct characteristics of the "July 1" speech and incorporating the course of China's development, Xin profoundly interpreted the "Four Great Achievements" [3] attained by the Party in uniting and leading the people. He captured the incomparable confidence and the spirit of "great struggle" [4] of the Chinese Communists in seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation, highlighting the significance of the General Secretary’s address. Building upon this, using his solid theoretical foundation, he provided a thorough exposition of the major theoretical innovations within the "July 1" Keynote Address. The report possessed both height in terms of political standing and thickness in terms of history and theoretical depth, allowing all participants to partake in a "spiritual feast" complete in "color, aroma, taste, form, meaning, and nourishment" [5].
On the afternoon of the same day, the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies also held the 2021 Joint Meeting of National Conditions Research Bases. Representatives from various bases conducted exchange speeches focused on the study of the spirit of the "July 1" Keynote Address, the practical implementation of Party history learning and education activities, and the utilization of the bases’ respective roles. Five representatives of the award-winning authors from the "Xiaoping Executive Development Academy Cup" shared and discussed the contents of their papers.
Relevant experts and scholars from the CASS Institute of Marxism Studies, along with leaders and representatives from the Institute’s National Conditions Research Bases, representatives of the symposium’s selected paper authors, representatives from relevant municipal departments, Party schools of various counties (cities and districts), members of the leadership team of the Xiaoping Executive Development Academy, heads of departments (centers), and faculty members—totaling over 80 people—participated in the event.
